The battery should be all ready to go, maybe a quick charge.
Health and Safety regulations would not let a company supply a battery that needs the purchaser to mess around with acid.......:o

Can you not see any liquid inside...?

try a car parts wholesaler Steve. the battery will be dry. There's not many carriers that will transport the acid, definately not if the battery has been filled.

Not allowed to send battery acid though the post hence the battery being dry!

Would it not have been easier to send it by Carrier?

We get Optima Batteries sent by carrier no problem, all ready to go.

if you didn't buy the battery of them why would they give you acid for free ?

I wouldn't expect to walk into somewhere i hadn't bought anything and expect to get something for free, so yes it's usual to charge. £6 is a lot for a bit of acid (you may get some cheaper from that lad with the hoody on the corner) but disregarding the actual cost of the stuff its not cheap to transport due to its hazardous nature.

Some batteries arrive with sealed plastic packs containing the acid. You put them on top of the battery and press down. Sharp points on top of the cells piece the acid pack and allow it to drain into the battery.

Not much help to Weeksy though.... :P

If you lived closer to me, I could get it done for free. But it would cost you more than a fiver to get it to me.
