View Full Version : Getting back on track
It's that time of year again.........coming home from the garage with a bad back and frozen feet, hands still grimy mid-week, bank balance deeeep in the red, no leaves on the trees but a race schedule on the dining table. "Hmmmmm, I love the smell of swarfega in the morning"
After bouncing across track & field in October the bike's been in a bit of a sorry state. Big clumps of grass sticking out of all four sides of the tyres, mangled this, broken that. Not a happy bike. :(
Fortunately the caring hands of Mr Cornerspeed welcomed her in, dropped the forks (off to ktech), dropped the engine (6 speed in, new mains), pulled all the grass out of the tyres and did a hundred other jobs to get her ready.
Back down south by early march and it was time for a super-speedy 3 hour paintjob (don't look too close), and some truly outstanding bodgery. Despite all the tools at my disposal I am usually to be found with either a hammer, gaff tape, or zip ties in my hand. You could found a civilization with that lot......
So thanks to all that helped (Jason, big brov J, Tonio, Rattler, Nelly). I'll do my level best to keep it upright. :D

Looks good Ali. What bodywork is it? Ricambi? The seat doesn't look like it.
Fairing is ricambi, and seat unit is one that Tonio helped me sort out from france.

Cheers,

Did you have to do lots of cutting and filing to get it to fit? My stuff is an abortion. I was tempted to skip it!
Thanks for the link. I might get on of them. How was it mounted at the rear (oooer!). Did you have to fabricate some brackets?

Four pad calipers, twin discs and a Brembo radial, i take it that it stops ok, makes me wonder how fast its having to stop from.
will it be one of the fastest out there
 Who said not with Ali onboard

No cutting at all to fit. The ricambi stuff isn't exactly top quality, but it's cheap as chips. The seat unit is mounted at the front with two bolts and I've added a couple of brackets at the back to support it. It's currently sloping down a bit towards the back, so I'm thinking of cutting a bit of the front away and lifting it up at the back.

Don't worry she'll get a good thrashing. :D
Looking good Ali :)
Maybe a couple of truck inner tubes cable tied on each side might help ;)

And Nelly ... one thing I forgot yesterday ..... (apart from my key)
I need some new cornerspeed stickers ...:)

What? And do you out of a living! Don't be daft, it'll be four-to-the-floor, flat-out, wide-eyed-terror the whole season.
Can't wait. :D

what it says on the tin Tim ...
I managed to cart the bike all the way to Shottingham from Sarf Lahndan and "did a Rattler" .... which in "DSC speak" is forgetting ones key ..... much to my shame :P
"doing a Rattler" ..................................... Getting the bike shipped off and leaving the keys in London
