I want to do some 2 up touring. Does anyone know of any mod that can be done to the pillion pad that will make it more comfortable? I was thinking along the lines of a gel seat cover or similar.

Has anyone tried this? Will it fit a 999 pillion pad?

Well worth fitting some non slip mat to the rear seat, makes a real difference to the passengers stability. We use it even on the ST and tend to rack up a few miles on some of our trips.

You can get a big sheet from places like Halfords.

Thanks Paul. I agree the non slip mat deffinitely helps and my wife has used it very sucessfully on the 748 I used to own. But with distances of around 300 miles the pillion perch on the 999 isn't the best place to be so I want to make her as comfortable as possible:D

I figured a gel seat cover that might also increase the seat to foot rest distance, if only slightly, would be the answer.

I don't want to order this M & P version and/or others only to have to send them back again because they don't fit, the restraining buckles scratch the body work, etc.

I have a better solution - how about one of these (http://www.unitsidecars.co.uk/bigducatieth.htm) :D
