1200 twin with a lower allowance on permissable tuning. I can not see what all the fuss is about. Plus a better chance to shift some road bikes.
Good racing though.

I watched on TV wish I'd been there and couldnt help wonder why on earth Ducati are making such a fuss about going for 1200s? They absolutely destroyed the Jap bikes there was absolutely no contest! Most of the footage screened was the battles for 3rd or 5th or whatever behind while the duke boys pulled away on each lap, superb.

The trouble is that look further down into the race paddock and apart from the fully supported JHP 749Rs and the F06s of Airwaves, there isn't a Ducati to be seen.

Now whether allowing 1200cc Dukes to compete with the IL4s would see a big influx of Ducatis competing in the Superstocks or Privateer entries I doubt, but you have to have an affordable Ducati entry race bike that can compete with the big Jap thous. You might then at least see a few.

Making an affordable (SIC), lesser tuned 1200 Ducati available for the racing masses (at WSB, BSB levels) has to be a marketing opportunity for Ducati.

Otherwise you're left with exotic monsters that only the very top teams can afford - and they might go off to MotoGP anyway.

Ducatis for the masses - gotta be the way to go.

as Tim said this issue with larger cc is about money.
Ducati recon its nearly costing Moto GP money to be competitive in superbike.
and lets not forget that those are factory 06 bikes in the BSB. normally they have hand down ducati from the previous season.
either way cant see the organisers changing anything. especially when the IL4 factories are getting there arses handed to them.
