Car wouldn't start this morning (2.0 TD Nissan Primera). Luckily my insurance includes free RAC homestart so within 40 minutes of making the phone call it was up and runing again. Turns out to be duff glow plugs. My attempts to get it going with Easystart didn't work becasue of the length of the inlet pipework plus the turbo. You have to take the pipe off as close to the turbo as possible and then spray.
Anyhow, i get on the phone and start ringing around for glow plugs.
Nissan wanted £38 plus vat each (two days delivery)! .
Partco in Chesterfield did the same things for £12 each (3.30pm the same day) :)
Rant over.

I think it's common to all brand dealers - Ducati are the same. Head bearings for the SS frame? £30-odd quid each. Cross reference the bearing part numbers and buy them as a Fiat wheel bearing for less than £20 the pair. And don't get me started on BMW prices!
However, some stuff is cheap. When we bought the BMW one of the plastic covers that goes over the top of the seatbelt feeder next to the door was missing. I went to the dealer and it was 35p and they had them in stock. I was obviously gutted when I found it wedged in the seat rail about 18 months later whilst hoovering the car, but at least it wasn't too bad!
Yep....agree......all manufacturers are the same. Useful link for any Alfa owners on here:-

Yep - rose joints for Monsters were I believe over £30 each.
Got them from BCL for £16 each.
Pays to shop around sometimes.
