749 - dash/speedo etc - help

Can anyone help?
Do you know if the 749 dash will be compatible with an earlier system?
Can it be rewired to work on an earlier system?
Poss for Ducati project now coming together

The short answer is no.
The new bikes use a differant sort of wiring system.I have'nt studied the wiring diagram's,but I think it could be a lot of hassle.The speedo works differantly to the older bikes as it uses a sensor to "count" the bolts on the rear disc.
Mind you,never say never,etc,etc,I'm sure some auto electrical wizz kid could do it.

at the multistrada's clocks. don't think they use the new 'single wire' technology on the 749/999. Might not be to your taste though ;)

Have spoken to Ducati today - apparently the MH900e has almost the same clocks as the 900ss (same year) - ha, anyone know of clocks from that bike?
