electrical gremlin

Just tried to start the engine for the first time in a month or so .. the battery is weak (old charger died), all i get is a loud clicking from the two electronic boxes under the toolkit tray, lights both very dim when switched on , starter clicks but doesnt turn .
A weak battery ,to me , explains all but the underseat clicking .. anyone know a cause for that ? and what the boxes are ?

The clicks you hear are electrical relays. Until you recharge the battery, you'll have enough battery power to energize the relays but not enough to run the starter motor.
