If i remember correctly.....

If you drop the wav into itunes... it will be able to convert it for you.
It can also convert your files from CD to mp3, and change your songs from the nasty windows format to mp3 too.
http://www.itunes.com (if you dont have it already)

I could be wrong, but I thought itunes converts tracks to mpeg4, there own compression format. ??

no, itunes does .mp3s and their own .m4a format too.

you can select it in the options. also set the bit rate etc.
But youre right, it does play .mp4 files.

As far as media players go... its about as good as they get.
....and it has nothing to do with windoze or micro$oft, which is always a big plus ;) hehe

Do you have nero installed?

If you do, switch it to expert mode and launch Edit Audio. You can then save sound files to MP3 or Wav etc.

Razorlame: it is a freeware front end graphical user interface - just google it.
Lame encoder - freeware and widely recognised as the best MP3 encoder. It can be download from rarewares.com iirc.

Unzip the Lame encoder into a directory. Unzip Razorlame into another directory. When you start Razorlame it will automatically look for and detect the Lame encoder - if it doesn't then just point it to the right location.

Now you're ready to go. They are a brilliant combination capable of encoding at all sorts of bit rates in single file mode or batch mode.

More info at www.hydrogenaudio.org

This is the tool I use.

I use itunes.

edit - preferences - advanced - importing then check your choice of encoder, in this case mp3. Now if you right click a file in the library you can convert to mp3.
