Got some TD bodywork including tank/fuel pump.

Question - the tank/fuel pump is off a 748 - so can I use the 748 fuel pump on my 916SPS or will I need to put the SPS fuel pump into the 748 tank?
I've got a feeling that the SPS fuel pressure requirement may be higher than the 748.

(If you write "pump" a lot you realise what a strange word it actually is...what is the etymology of it??)

Yup, same mate..

some of the old ones had different connectors, non quick release type hoses, but apart from that...same thing.

On a similar note, I've got a new tank for mine and have a pump. When I fit the pump assembly to the tank, it doesn't lay flat across the bottom of the tank as the tank appears to be curved.

I've not filled it with petrol yet, but just wondered if this was normal, or do I have the wrong pump assembly for this tank?

as long as the pump sits flat across the mounting plate (equal spacing on all 3 screws) - it should be fine - not sure what you mean about the curve????

Writing it a lot may be strange, but if you say it a lot you sound like a brass band.

No idea on the origin (pompe in French and Italian).

What is the etymology of etymology?

And if something isn't defunct, is it funct?

I'll have a lie down now.

yeah, the word "from" is a bit of an odd word too if you say it over and over.....

a couple of similar questions:

why is there only one word for thesaurus? and why is there only one monopolies commission?

916SPS fuel pressure regulator is set at 4.5 bar, 748 is 3 bar.
Life is full of strange things. Where does the flame go when you blow out a candle? Why does dog poo go white?
