View Full Version : Desmosedici sells out!
According to MCN the US allocation of Desmosedicis for 2007 has sold out in 5 hours!
I'd like to be in a position where I was gutted by that, but sadly I'm not
Dom just console yourself in the fact that the US versions will have the restrictors on them.....
Wel Ducati uk have sent me a letter today telling me of my priveledge as a 999r owner............

Has anyone in the DSC placed a deposit yet (or will admit to doing so)?
I was on the verge of it but sanity prevailed and I'm spending a smaller fortune on my 888 instead. Add to that me wife say's she NEED'S a swimming pool!

Wel Ducati uk have sent me a letter today telling me of my priveledge as a 999r owner
It did say in MCN that one owner in America purchased a new Xerox 999R to get on the priveledged list so they'd be in with a chance of a Desmosedici.
ok...my priveledged position for £5000?
A last..................... a good reason to buy a 999r!!
Ray.

Me and my mates discussed this today. Is the Desmosedici an investment opportunity or will it loose value quicker than a Jaguar XJ220
I know a guy who tends to order the latest greatest Ferrari every 18 to 24 months or so and seems to sell his existing Ferrari to someone on the waiting list for what he paid for it.
A good friend bought a Porsche 996 carrera 4 sport, ran it for 1 year and sold it back to the dealer for £3k less than he paid for it ... that's better value than a mondeo or vectra Euro box.
Could you do the same with a Desmo' ... run it for 12 to 18 months and sell it for the same, or more, than you paid for it

£2500 deposit. 3 year warranty, 3 year servicing included in the price...
I was on the verge of it but sanity prevailed and I'm spending a smaller fortune on my 888 instead. Add to that me wife say's she NEED'S a swimming pool!

There are obviously a few wealthy individuals in the DSC and I wondered if any Desmosedeici's would end up in the hands of genuine Ducati enthusiasts, rather than on display in the front rooms of rich playboys, or in their garages next to the Ferrari.....
I've given it a few moments thought myself (er...not that I'm at all wealthy!) but it would mean selling all 3 of my current machines and another £10-15k on top of that...so not that realistic, in truth.
Still.......

I paid my mortgage off yesterday but moments before, with enough money there, I seriously considered it - but then I suppose they're all sold now anyhow :)
Got my letter this week too.
i am tempted, even more so with the 3 year warranty AND 3 year servicing package! Wonder what that covers?!
Will be a bit of a wait if you haven't put an order down already?
