I've got a water leak from the header tank area of my bike that drips down onto the back of tha rad , i can't see a lot as its pretty congested around there , is it much of a job to get it off ? And is there anything around that area that is prone to leaking ?

I had that once. Never replaced the tank because it only happened the once and never found exactly where the coolant leaked from(may have just been the cap). never happened since. this was 2 years ago. Apparently the header tanks have been known to split. I bought one of ebay as a spare for a fiver just in case.

the actual header tanks themselves are prone to splitting down the seam
its not to bad to get at.
a good morning or afternoon spare should do the trick.
there about 25-30 new so don't pay over the odds on flea bay

yep, as Keefer says, they split on the seam which runs horizontally around it, takes about an hour to change .. tank off, belmouths out, airbox up, then move the ignition barrel out the way, undo the hoses and lift out.

Pop new one in and put it back together ....

I paid £18 (i think)for mine from JHP who posted it out, just call Dave on parts.
