Theres a set of Ohlins forks on ebay atm which by the looks of things could be going quite cheap. But they are listed for Moto Guzzi V11 now i am aware that there maybe some spacers needed and some fiddling to get them in, but are just 'run of the mill' R&T forks?

They're not R&T versions, they are production Ohlins for a Guzzi in the same way as they make them for some models of Ducati and Aprillia.
They could well be a different length, have different slider dimensions so may not fit yokes and clip-ons and may also not be able to accomidate a 25mm Ducati spindle.
Get him to answer some of the above and then you can judge if any price saving over Ducati Ohlins is worth the hassle. I can tell you from experience the Aprillia ones aren't worth the trouble and this may well be true for the Guzzi ones
