Fitted some EBC FA 47 organic? pads to me 998. They seem to bite very well but have worn out in about 3000 miles of mainly road use. Suppose there must be a trade off between wear rate and how soft the pads are to bite.

The rear disc looks well worn as well. Does anyone know the service limit on the rear disc? i.e minimum thickness.

Looks like I a heavy user of the rear brake so what options are there for an upgrade? Seem some fancy looking rear discs that look lightweight and more holes than disc, i.e lot less surface area. I'm probally looking for somewith a bit more heavy duty.

Ray,

I think your 998 also has brakes at the front, maybe you could try using those?

Blimey I have done 15,000 miles and the rear pads are like new from factory and still the originals.

I didn't believe my rear brake could wear a set of pads out you got a good 'un there.
