While interest is high and the heat wave seems to be over - how about a Supersport / Superlight gathering?
Dunno if Nelly could stand another gathering at Cornerspeed but, it is a very well know location to the 'Ducatisti'.
Thoughts please?
Frank
PS - Meet time seems to be 12 noon onwards.

Why not indeed!!
Yesterday was great. If you want to go ahead and organise something Frank, you're more than welcome to plan Cornerspeed into the idea.
I can even join in with a certain SS ;)

Neil, you are inded 'Da Man'.
However, I think if we are to abuse your hospitality the date needs to suit you and your work schedule.
However, my thought were:
1) Sooner rather later while intrest in meets is good.
2) Sometime around the end of July?
I've not checked race / TD schedules but how about either the w/e of the 22nd or 29th July ???
Finally - Neil, are you hinting that we could all come and worship the zenith of SS's in this country :saint:
Cheers - Humbled 944 Frank

Sounds like a great idea to me!
I think I'd be up for that too. Not a bad ride for me from NW of Leeds.
Frank, shouldn't be a problem on the 29th.
and yes..................... there could well be a certain Bloo feeling to the day ;)

Excellent Neil, good call.
There are a few club races on that weekend: Brands / Cadwell / Croft but I guess Saturday is mainly practise day.
I feel a plan coming together :)

Can I come on Luthor????? :)
Iconic944ss
10-Jul-2006, 23:57
Of course Lisa, although I did think you were part of the Cornerspeed welcoming committee ;)
Even though the focus is meant to be SuperSport and Superlight series bikes, it is just a poor excuse for any of the DSC / anyone with a Ducati or an interest in them or OK damn it, just an interest in bikes to come along and say hello.
Cheers - Frank
I'm also up for this - I will put out a newsletter to those on 900SL.com as well to get them to visit this thread for details.

Cheers Colin - 12am onwards seems to be a decent enough time for peeps to aim to be there.
I'll post this up on DuN as well - if anyone wants to post up times and place to meet for a ride-in please feel free.
Sadly, I think I'm stuck with A19/A1 main routes etc.
Looking forward to this already :)

It better had be !!!
I've just spent 3 hours cleaning my bike after yesterday's downfall!
Seriously, yes - Nelly is well up for it and I MUST phone him tomorrow for a final chin-wag, no numbers as such yet and sadly I missed the deadline for it to appear in the free section of MCN.
12 noon onwards - looking forward to it already.

Sorry I could not make the gathering – Burglar Bill visited on Friday night and broken into all the barns. Bizarrely he and his merry friends took nothing, I can understand him leaving the Steam Roller, as that would be a monumental blag, but all laid out for the taking were tools, grinders, a half decent lawn mower, jerry can full of petrol/2 dukes etc.
So I spent the weekend moving and securing stuff.
Any pictures available? How did it go?

Oh kock. I had it marked up as last weekend. Out this weekend too... Visiting SS Great Britain and some pubs.
If distance is a problem I can get cheap rates at the Marriott just off M1 J28. £44 for a deluxe room.
Nelly - have you got access to any SS/SL parts or know where to get some? I know people who are coming and not coming who need parts.
Can you actually still get original fairing/seat parts from Ducati for say MkI 1992 Superlight etc?
Ziggi, parts are still generally available for chassis and engine. Some of the bodywork is getting quite difficult to get a hold of now, or more like the deliveries are taking time.
Best bet is to get a list of specific items together and go from there. I can first find out if it's still available and costs then check availability from the factory.
Great - i'll bring a list with me.

Just cleaned off all the dead flies from the front of the SL and given it a clean.
Any ideas on how many plan to attend ????
Not a massive amount but enough to make it ok I think.

I'm hopeful of a dozen or so 2V's but have a feeling others might turn up - and are more than welcome!
I'm a bit miffed at missing the deadline for an entry in MCN's 'Live' listings but myself and others have advertised it as well as can be expected given the short time allowed - lol - my fault all around really....
I guess the first 'round' is on me then :)
Looking forward to putting some names to faces on Saturday.
Cheers - Frank
P.S. - Just give Clifford a damn good clean after the Buell meet and even put my nice full open Carbon Cans back on, so if you hear , "Bokka, Bokka, Bokka" it might be me.

The Chicken-mobile has just received clearance for take-off from central control (aka Mrs Chicken).
Unfortunately she will still be sporting 'road' bodywork unless I can haul myself out of bed early enough to swap it over.
I'll be there, mostly to annoy the wife as I am leaving her at home with my parents. Ha ha, serves her right for 10 years of nagging!
I will be the fat guy who is walking funny. I put my back out this morning. I will doese up on Ibuprofen and hope for the best.
Really sorry I can't be there but the SL isn't running at the mo, and the DD bike needs lots of love and attention before the next race. Gutted. :(
Say hi to Bloo and all the lovely 2vs for me, and make sure that nasty Nelly man doesn't steal one away for illicit tuning purposes!
Have a great day,
Ali

What a great day out.
I blasted straight down to Cornerspeed as I thought I should really get there as early as poss since I set the wheels in motion for the meet!
A brace of 7/9 series bikes were already there and Neil greeted me and was obviously proud to have the legendary "BlooDuke" on display (in the first pic), which he fired up later and sounded awesome, especially inside a building.
A few 2V's were already there - Colin (Ziggi) from the 900SL.com site + Herb and shortly after Andy900ss and Chi appeared to be welcomed into the hallowed hall.
Lisa also made a modelling appearance  and then Judi turned up on her Yellow SuperLight just to prove how nice and different they really do look.
It was good to kick ideas and modifications around with owners of similar machines; I was most impressed with Chi's STM clutch slave which has convinced me I need to uprate mine to make the action lighter.
Sadly, the time flew by and peeps had to drift away to return to 'normality' - I was one of the last to leave but I was desperate to finally find Squires Cafe on the way home - which I did, at last!
Canny place - sign posting is naff and I rode straight past! Quite busy even for Sat teatime and it looked like the Bandit owners club were having a rally of some sort. Some trade stands and a mobile Dyno were there, making a good noise on the few bikes I heard. I couldn't resist a coffee and a newly baked pastie and enjoyed the nicely chilled atmosphere - there was only one other Duke that I could see in the place but, I'll definately return now I know where its at.
The weather just couldn't help its self and had to rain lightly on the outskirts of Cleveland but, I didnt even bother to stop to don waterproofs - just wound him up to ***mph and enjoyed the ride :D
264 mile round trip today and every ride is feeling easier now however, all these motorway are starting to square off the back tyre......time for a trackday me thinks
Many thanks to Neil for letting us meet at Cornerspeed - top bloke!
Thanks as well to all that turned up, nice one.
Cheers - Frank

Sorry I didnt see any of you yesterday. I checked the bike over for the trip, put some air in the front tyre and satisfied all was well dis a few jobs on my 748. Hopped on to come up to Cornerspeed, and found the front tyre was completely flat!
It turned out to be leaking around the valve, so tyre off and a tour of tyre cenres until I got a new valve put in, and wheel back on the bike. Arrived at Cornerspeed to find the last bike leaving, and Neil on his own! I saw a couple of bikes leaving as I approached the estate, and a couple at full chat going the other way on the M!!
Oh well, perhaps there will be another one next year, because I was really looking forward to this years!
