View Full Version : RIP Syd.....
RIP indeed.
Although not a great lover of the very early recordings, I certainly appreciate what he started.
A sad day.
Time to crack out the early floyd stuff.

Genius .
If he was a genius, what exactly has he contributed since 1974?
i don't understand this eulogising of people who had there 15 minutes of fame and ****ed it up because their pharmacuetical needs be came more important to them than their "art"

I think Doogalman may have been complimenting me phantom, well one can dream :-)
Even if he messed it up due to his pharmacuetical needs as you put it, he nevertheless paved the way for a style of music that still draws the crowds today.
Oh and BTW, who are you to judge people?
Did you walk in his shoes?

I was refering to the input he gave to the music scene during the 60's. Not everyone was keen on the run of the mill chart music at the time. The musical creativity that he gave was so ahead of the time. A gifted musician as well.
Yes shame how he ended up.
"Inside out" by Nick Mason tells the grueling struggle they had to succeed (as did many bands at the time). Great read.
