Does anyone know to a tool or company that can alter the lenght of a throttle cable for me?
Is it possible to cut off the nipple and re-fit it?

Is there a tool out there just for this kind of job?

I'm looking to shorten the cable or increase the lenght of the sheathing

I believe it is possible, but can be hard to remake motorbike cable's - I bought a heavy duty cutter for pedal bike cables but its a lighter grade.

These guys must surely be able to help and can make cables to your spec:

Good luck - Frank

Definitely give Venhil a ring. I just had one made to my specs for all of 15 quid.

Thx Felix, what information did they require other than the lenght of inner and outer cable?

You send them yours and specify what alteration you want and they send you a new one and your original one back. Takes about 3-4 days.

I would just like to give credit where credits due. I posted off a cable with instrutions on monday. Tues got a call to ask a few queies regarding the new cable. Thursday I received another call to say it was complete and readuy to be dispatched. friday 10.30am new cable arrived. Friday 7.30pm cable fitted and works a treat. So if you ever need a cable making up to your own spec give Venhill Engineering a call.

Thx again Frank, Felix.

I am glad you had good service from Venhill, Jon. They've always been very good for me. Their brake hose system is good too.
