the connectors were changed at some point. Should be able to search for that info on here as it has been covered before.

Do you know what the pump came off and is going on to because there are apparently (same pump) but 2 different ratings for the 748 and 996 bikes I think.

There are two types, as far as I know, one with the quick-release connectors and the "cheaper version (E model) fitted without them. Other than that they should be exactly the same.

You can, get the right connectors to upgrade the pump housing to accept the quick release connectors. Or you could do it the other way round and remove the quick release connectors off the pipes and connect it directly to the tank!

I think we have some of the right quick release connectors if you need them, so let me know.

Do any of you suffer from fuel leaks from the QR connectors? I've just spent the whole of last Saturday trying to stop a leak from the white connector under the tank. I tried changing the o-ring three times (thanks to Nelly for the supply) (yes, I did lubricate them before assembly), all to no avail. In the end I removed the pump assembly from the tank, then removed the connector from the assembly and re-assembled it having sealed the thread. The connector bases are b****rds to remove - no std spanner will fit and I had to make a special tool. Having re-assembled everything (the assembly is a b**ch to re-fit to the tank with the giant o-ring) the leak is no more. I guess I shall never know whether re-seating the base fixed it or whether it was the o-ring in the connector all the time and I was just lucky when I re-assembled it.

I'm now left with a vertical pot, cam covers, inspection ports etc that are covered in fuel residue stains.

Antonye - how much do the connectors cost? How does one fit the floating end to the fuel pipe? It looks like a special tool job...

I believe they are quite expensive new, in the order of £20 for the ones that fit the tank and allow the hose to be connected.

To connect the other end to the fuel pipe you can just insert it and use a hose clip, as per the Ducati standard way!
