Well, here’s the last update about my little accident two years ago today, when my beautiful new 749S was written off by a careless driver doing a u-turn.

I’m still alive and kicking but sadly not biking any more. My main problem is nerve damage, which has left my right arm limp and useless. I don’t know if or when I’ll be able to ride again so I’ve decided not to renew my membership this time.

I’ve enjoyed being part of the DSC and I’ve been the proud owner of three Ducatis. The old M900 (now sitting silently in the garage), a stunning S4 (much loved but had to be traded) and the shiny red 749S (‘nuff said).

I’d love to join in the fun again one day, don’t write me off yet – you never know …..

So, for the good times, cheers everyone and bye for now!

Hello Gill, not met you (I don't think) but have just read this and am very sorry that you were the victim of such a debilitating accident. I'm glad you're still in love with bikes and hope that you can continue to enjoy the biking scene, if not actually be an active biker.

All the best.

Ruth

PS Lily, you're a total hussy!

Gill. having been the victim of a careless u-turning driver in the past, you have my sympathy. I was much luckier on that occasion than you obviously were.
I've also had to come back from an injury that included nerve damage. My unsolicited advice is, "Don't Give Up".
I wish you all the best and hope to hear you're back on a bike one day soon.

Gill, sorry to hear that you still have the nerve damage. Since my wife was diagnosed with MS earlier this year, I've been following developments in neurological research and they are doing amazing things by way of repairing nerve tissue in the lab right now. It may be several years until this research makes it's way from mice and hamsters through to benefit humans, but you never know. Medical science is accelerating all the time.

Keep your chin up and stay in touch

Gill,

Thats a huge shame, only met you the once at an AGM and you were a bright light then, bubbly and funny, although it was no surprise you were grinning, CK was at the time chasing me round trying to kick me up the a**e ...

I do remember how enthusiastic you were about your bike and it saddens me that your biking has had to come to a (hopefully temporary) end in such a manner.

Keep smiling, the worlds a better place for it.

Gill, am so sorry to hear the news, but I know you were not too optimisitc for the immediate future when we last met.

Hope to see you when we come up in your direction sometime
