There has been a bit of an off board discussion regarding a Southern 888 gathering, and as the Popham megameet is on Aug 20th, it provides an ideal location.

As trying to find each other amongst hundreds of others at the airfield might be tricky it been suggested that we meet up somewhere that is very easy to find and then head off together to Popham. We can sort out entry passes at that point too.

Alton in Hampshire is a well known spot for most, and as there is a cafe for greasy breakfasts next to the railway station, it looks like we have a sensible gathering point. If we aim for 10:30am at the cafe and aim to leave the cafe at 11.00 ish to head to Popham via some Ducati friendly roads.

If anyone wants to meet up in Midhurst and ride over then Paul G will be leaving his place in Midhurst around 10am.

I have already asked Dick for passes but to be sure I have requested enough, can you give me an idea if your on for this?

Rob, just for info. the cafe doesn't open on Sundays, so you better have some Corn Flakes before you leave:D

I'd love to come but I'll be at the DSC trackday at Cadwell (If I can get the T8 front wheel repaired in time)

Rob, chaps.

Would love to come to this seeing as I didn't make Cornerspeed. Due to a huge upheaval and change in circumstances, I now live in Winchester, not too far from Alton and Popham and it would therefore be criminal to not attend. Rob do you have a ticket to get me in, or do I have to get one or what? Cheers! Lynds.

Just a gentle reminder

Meet in Alton (Hampshire) railway stn. car park. If we aim for 11am at the cafe and aim to leave the cafe at 11.30/11.40 ish to head to Popham via some Ducati friendly roads.

Rob has very kindly sorted the people who have said they where going some free tickets and parking for the Popham event

If anyone wants to meet up in Midhurst and ride over then I will be leaving Midhurst around 10am. Give me a call a few days before and I will wait for you to arrive.

I propose to go whatever the weather conditions.

Thanks to all for the great turn out, great to see all those 8xx in one place. I think we kinda overflowed and swamped the kind chaps from Snells.

Yep, it was really good to see so many 888's considering the weather was a bit ropey. I was evn lucky enough to pick up a rusty but useable double reverse neutralising radius integrator for my 1967 Gazelle series 4 flange valve. They're great, these autojumbles...
Nice to put faces to names too. Paul's race 888 was cool as a polar bear, Rob's 888 is lovely but just too clean, plus a couple of Sp's really made my day. Nice one fellas.
Lyndsay.

Thats the trouble with those lots-of-roads-bikes isnt it ... they just seem to go on round-the-countryside routes to everywhere :D
