Hi folks……

As the 2006 Ducati Sporting Club 2-day trackday at Cadwell Park is drawing closer, I wanted to take the opportunity to provide people with some clarification as to how I plan to provide photography services during the event.

As I am working this event on my own, there will be some differences to previous years so I felt it best to let people know in advance how things will work.

Sadly, it will be not be possible for me to supply images on the day/s. The logistics involved in taking photographs from every session means I cannot also be in the paddock sorting the images into the respective groups and then showing them to potential clients and selling them. This is the main difference to previous years where the photographer had a team of people helping him take photographs and then market them on the day, with these two activities often occurring as the same time.

My plan is to cover each and every session, attempting to capture each rider within the groups. I will take images from as many locations around the circuit as possible including the paddock. My plan is to use the first session for each group on each day to capture paddock ‘atmospheric’ shots. The reason for this is that most people will be using those early sessions to get used to the track layout more than they will be concentrating on looking good for the camera!!!!! It also means you hopefully get shots of you with your helmets off chatting to mates and preparing your bikes etc….an equally important and memorable part of the proceedings. As mentioned, I will try and capture every rider, but this can sometimes be impossible if you are in the middle of a tight group each time you pass me.

I will sort all of the track based images into the groupings (i.e. fast, inter, novice). The images will be displayed in a pre-designated area on the Cope Images website. This area will be found at www.copeimages.com/cadwelldsc.htm

I envisage that the images will start to emerge on the Cope Images website by close of play on Wednesday 23rd August.

From here you will be able to view low-res samples of the images. Images can be ordered as Jpegs on CD (per rider) or as individual prints. There will be an order form provided on the entrance page to the galleries which can be downloaded prior to image viewing. CD’s will be priced at £30 each. I will aim to provide a minimum of 15 images on the CD. If I don’t get this minimum quantity of images of a particular rider I will reduce the price accordingly for riders who still want Jpegs on CD. Prints can be provided in varying sizes up to A3 (420mm x 297mm). Some basic price/size options will be shown on the order form but as the prints are sourced from a professional photography lab, various options are available and prices can be supplied upon request. All prints are in a ‘glossy’ format and are supplied unmounted and will be despatched in cardboard back envelopes.

I hope that this clarifies things for people interested in photographs.

If you have any queries at all, please contact me.

Kind regards, Guy

Sounds great Guy, and a very good idea to let us know in advance how you plan to run things. I've often thought the pictures taken later in the day, once we're in our stride as far as the riding is concerned, would be worth seeing but no-one has ever done that at any track day I've been to. I'm sure your plan will be a great success and I know you'll take terrific photos, having seen your work on here.

well done Guy and good luck! We as a Club are really fortunate to have you with your skill.

If you do a get a chance for a group shot for Pronto, (and the calendar that we will do this year, oops did that slip out???) it would be appreciated, although I understand how many miles that you will walk over the 2 days!

Same goes for anybody else there with a camera, picsof people in the paddock etc. It would be good to have a few words from people as well.

Hi Folks,

Just an update for you.

Not good news I'm afraid.

What with PC glitches and a broadband connection that won't stop disconnecting without warning, I think I will struggle getting anythign uploaded tonight.

The PC glitches ('kin Microsoft!!!!!) have put me about 5 hours behind so far today and that's with a full-time job too. Will keep plodding on and will; try and get some up soon.

Thanks for your patience....once again.

Link for the pictures is still

PS. Will put a link from my main website when I get done uploading the actual galleries.

PPS. If you've already visited my Cadwelldsc.htm page you may need to 'REFRESH' your page so that it loads the updated version (usually by pressing F5 on your keyboard). This is probably your problem Ian

Latest Update folks in that Monday's "Inters" are now up on my server.

I can't post a link as I'm away from home using a faster broadband connection so can't edit the html pages.

If you use the 'fast' group link above and when at the 'fast' gallery, go to the URL bar at the top of your Internet Explorer window and change the word 'Fast' to 'Inters'

I'm very happy with those, Guy. I'll be ordering the CD today and a couple of prints. How do you identify which rider is which? I was in Novice on Day 1 and Inters Day 2. Would it make it easier for you if i give you all the jpeg numbers or do you have software for that? I bought a CD from the guy at Brands last year that had some other bloke on as well as me, and some of me were missing.

Yes I spent Tuesday afternoon in Inters with my cousen Roger the wheelie king of Inters on his xerox 996. It was getting out of hand in the fast group with the lads. I had Two trips on the grass, Charlies One and a very nasty incident at the right hand bend before the mountain. Still managed to go strait across the grass at Hall though keeping up with him.

I think I made some ground up on him though there like that though so I may try it every lap in October. :D

The grass looks in fantastic condition in all the shots. ;)

Hi Folks,

Just to clarify things re the ordering of the images.

It is altogether better for everyone, but mainly me if the order form is downloaded (via the link on the main 'cadwelldsc.htm' page) and printed off filling in the filenames you need on your CD's or print options etc. You can print more copies if you need to.

Things could get awfully messy if I'm trying to decipher emails, phone messages etc and then relate them back to pics or orders. If I have a form in front of me I know exactly who it's from, what they want, where it has to go, and what payment they've sent. I'd still prefer this if you pay by Paypal.

For the techno heads amongst us who prefer to type on the form I've attached an MS Excel version of the form.

Thanks again. Guy

Hi Folks,

Just a quick note to remind and kindly request that on the order forms that you send in to me, please could you detail the picture numbers you require EVEN if ordering a CD of all your images.

I have had a couple of forms simply detailng colours of bike or leathers/helmet colour combinations.

I will struggle to cope with the orders if they keep coming through like this and am also far more likely to send you the wrong pics or the wrong amount of pics. You are far better judges of identifying yourselves than I am which is why I have requested this. I assure you, after sifting through 2800 pics your eyes start seeing things that don't even exist.

Many thanks folks.

So far two batches of CD's have been sent out so some of you should already have received them.

Another batch including some early orders for prints will go out today.

I'm away for a few days so I will...

a)

Get all outstanding CD orders received up to today processed and posted out this weekend.

b)

Get all outstanding print orders received up to today sent to the printing lab I use. These should arrive at my home address whilst I am away. I will post these out to the recipients as soon as I get back.

Any orders received whilst I am away will be processed as soon as possible upon my return.
