Nothing to do with police...........they just assemble the evidence/case........presumably he was found guilty or admitted it.............therefore speak to the Magistrates/Courts!/Government!:D

Which bit of 'the Police are not responsible for setting the penalty' dont you understand?
The policies, made by your Government et al, are clear! Sadly we do as we are told!:frog:

If hes been caught and punished for that list youve provided, then i would suggest he wasnt suitable for a caution............so either they got it wrong, or shock horror, hes been lying about his pre cons!

and you asked in an open forum on a thread about wavey discs.........?????
I dont make the rules and am probably more frustrated than any one seeing it on a daily basis.
You seem hell bent on blaming the Police for a process that is not their doing!
and were also doing it in a cynical, light hearted way.....

"The police caught him ,he addmitted it and then they let him go scot free ?????????

Im so so confused ?

Or is it just me not being a DOOGOODER

Poor boy from a single parent who takes drugs, always drunk, burgles houses, mugs grannies ,and so on and so on Arrr Bless his cotton socks"

When I responded in a genuine style to your original request from me for my advise,

"Nothing to do with police...........they just assemble the evidence/case........presumably he was found guilty or admitted it.............therefore speak to the Magistrates/Courts!/Government!"

That seemed fairly clear to me.

You then came back with the usual run of the mill moan...........insistant on blaming the Police.........and in the style of some "typical sarcastic answer"

I therefore responded in a similar vain.........and with quite a good link back to the original topic I thought!

All still on the open forum in a thread about brake discs!

Dont start me off on mtb,s now you lot.

Just done a swap with Andy R his Orange sub 3 with loads of bits for my kids unused quad. Started with the new bits already but want carbon seat post and bars, nice Easton xc70? bars for £61 new on ebay. Disc s and calipers ate xtr, would look nicer with waveys !!

nice Ian Sub 3's were a fairly limited production run, I think we only made something like 150 or 200 of them. there are 2 versions the initial ones were lower bb so you have to ride rocky trails with cranks level, mk2 has bb about 10mm higher, its a bit better for crank clearance. Make sure you get the rear sag set correctly 7 - 8 mm max or it will catch more easily.

you can't get wavy rotors for XTR if its the centre lock version rotor choice is limited, I've got one bike on that and use the shimano floating rotor, it works well. Wavy is now out of fashion in MTB hence the garage full of Hope wavy rotors i have. On Hope the bling is now the colour of the centre cover on the calliper, the floating rotor and for next year vented rotors.

i've got Easton carbon bars on my production 5, stick with Easton if you go down carbon route, I've seen others fail too easily and make sure you debur the control levers!!

Easton or Answer carbon or Thomson aluminium post/Gobi saddle is my usual choice for light weight and comfort.

Yeah your right..........when we gunna see the 3 amigo 749r's on track? thats the best therapy!

andyb
17-Aug-2006, 14:02
Andyb, I would love to try my bike out on the track but in all honesty the only thing that scares me is if I put it down the road, no insurance, lots of expensive parts and not enough money to repair it, looks too nice to wreck, although if I came off on the road it will probably wreck even more !!

Although i would say that coming off the bike on the road, track or anywhere for that matter, is allways rider error.........

I firmly believe and understand there are a lot more factors in the equation riding on the road. It is much harder to ride on the road correctly and therefor more dangerous. The main difficulty is the decision making, junctions, overtakes, vehicles coming the other way etc etc

So as a lot of these dont exist on a track on a track is safer............and less chance of damaging your bike.:D

JPM
17-Aug-2006, 15:10
It's funny reading this thread all this bling etc which is way OTT for the road, to be fair my R is pretty much a track bike now as it's just too much for the road, if I throw it down the track then so be it, my error it's only a bike and I'd hope I've taken enough precautions to make sure it doesn't cost too much to sort.

I can name a few peeps with various Italian exotica who've come off on the road and even at low speeds their bikes have ended up in the scrap pile due to hitting kerbs, lamp posts, street signs, street lights, stationary vehicles etc, from that basis you're far better off on the track and then you can get to test some of this bling to what it was intended for....

bike mad
17-Aug-2006, 16:00
thays not the point, it's you have the bike insurance for the road so even if the worst happens you get your money back,
on the track you lose the lot,

JPM
17-Aug-2006, 16:03
Not nessarily you can get track insurance.... and in most cases your excess would be more than an off at a trackday
