Just anothe rvariation on the Paul Smart/900ss (bevel) theme isn't it?

Personally (an I do lve the Sport Classic) I'd rather see a superlight 1000ss with all the right bits on it. 90bhp/320-350lbs.

That would do me - trouble is it would probably kick 749/999 butt on normal roads.

Have you tried sitting on a sport-classic yet ???
And how tall are you ???
Anything over 5' 10" and I reckon your knees wont fit.
I'd absolutely love one, but the tank bulges are as stupid as the first monster tanks - designed for the vertically challenged ;)

A fraction under 5' 11". I'd move the seat back and the tank forward - I've done that on my 800's. I am tempted by the SC1000 but, I'm also tempted to buy a 1000ss next year too for S-o-T racing or Thunderbikes...not sure yet. Or I might just go down the route of getting the 800 into the 320lb bracket.

Sat on a sport classic today with the hi-rise bar option and at 6'3 it felt great, almost like a sportier monster.
If it wern't for the single seat only I'd seriousley give it a hard look.
PS Any news when the 07 multis hit the shops?

I was at the Ducati factory on the 27th July and they were shipping dual seat/ dual rear shock Sport 1000's with high-rise bars fitted as standard. They also had a rear seat cowl fitted that made it look almost identical to the single seat Sport 1000.
The 1100 Multi's were also being put together on another production line (and being shipped).
No ' Superbike ' models were being built (although there were some of the 999s Parts Unlimited ready for shipping).
