Do any of you guys know if there is much available parking around London Bridge station/Tower Bridge/Jamaica Road/Tooley Street? I have heard nightmares about the lack of bike parking since Ken's congestion charge, - looks like I will have to go up fairly regularly from now on, - and really do not want to d the train thing.

there's a couple - see here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/congestion/bike_park.html

There's only a couple of financial institutions on the wrong side of the river (ducks!) so you'll probably get a space up to 8:30. Otherwise there's loads of spaces around Monument and it's only a three minute walk over the bridge.

Oh yes .... this is why there’s nowhere to park them

there's actually a lot of places that aren't on the bike park map because they aren't 'official bike bays'. For example, round my office the map shows no bike bays but there's enough unofficial spaces for at least 50 bikes. :D

Near Ian's location, there are actually a few spaces at the hospital opposite the London Dungeon. I didn't mention it before because the security guards will let you get away with it once or twice but not on a regular basis.

My recommendation would be to get the train the first 2-3 times but get there early so you can have a walk around the area and check where the locals park (easily spotted if you see the same bikes in the same locations). Make sure that you check there are still spaces free around the time that you would normally want to get there.

thanks Chicken, - really helpful, - your local knowledge has been useful, - after you posted up the link to bike parking I did a search and found another site with parking info that looks to be for the entire UK, - might be useful for people in future:
