Am i right in thinking - if I buy this

I can watch digital tv on the laptop or pc screen without the addition of anything else ?

Yes BUT you'll need a decent aerial for it.

Ahh - well i have one of them already on the house - is that what you mean ? Do I have to plug in an aeriel cable too ?

You can get a much more compact usb tv stick from Freecom - Maplins and PC World sell it for about £45. It works well with a decent hi-gain antenna also available from Maplins for about another £20.

The supplied antenna are rubbish.

You need a fair bit of horsepower to drive these things though...my 1.3Ghz laptop was well within the minimum hardware specs but still crawled along and tv was a bit jerky.

I bought one of these,got all free stations etc on laptop,BUT that was with house aerial plugged in.With supplied arial,nothing!!but for £20 i have already recorded three Gp's onto my HD!!
