Hi All

Im currently on the lookout for st4s top of my list for winter rad style cafe race project but may well consider st2/st4 models if one of those grabs my eye or pocket spends.

Any pointers on what i should really look out for as have very little knowledge of these models having only ever owned and ridden 748's

Any info will be great

Paul

Oh, dear - you just missed THE MOTHER of all bargains on the DSC:

But its NOT been collected yet?

There is also ANOTHER ST4s for sale in the 'For Sale' section - on DSC too!

Not much to go wrong with the ST series, from memory:

LCD Clock/fuel gauge misting & water lock in.
Fuel gauge erratic (level tube in tank)
VERY POOR HIGHLIGHTS (I put HID on mine)
Some rocker issues - but few, thankfully.
Water getting into main electrical connectors
Fairings are a PAIN to get on/off (but NOT an issue for a cafe job I imagine).
Steering & head bearings only lasted 20K on my bike.
Batteries get a HARD life.

Good luck

A Club member Andy may have his ST4S up for sale - great spec with upgraded forks to radial brakes and the later fairing, etc.

I'll give him a nudge!

My bike is indeed for sale as I've now got the Hypermotard back... Not 100% by any means but mechanically sound and took me all the way to WDW and back in the summer without a hitch. I'm not at home right now so will tempt you with pictures from the mobile but PM me if interested. As Antony suggested it has a Ktech fork setup with a radial disc conversion and sintered pads - stopping power is epic!http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/rr210/uksurvivor/f0ab2358-1254-49ea-b6f5-e31519affe11.jpg

Apologies for the crappy mobile photos, not the best but you get the idea. And as for the poor headlights mine has the HID conversion ;-)

Not my doing i'm afraid, I just needed a bike to get to WDW and back and this came up, it's exactly how I bought it apart from the extra miles and the Zero Gravity screen
