Going up from Dorset to Lincoln fridayto pick up the Monster!

Going to get a cheap set of waterproofs tomorrow...

Is there anywhere or anyone I should visit on the way back to break up the journey? Whether it be a bike shop, DSC member or whatever???

Ain't nobody talkin' to ya, Ozz?

If your route takes you anywhere near Hemel Hempstead, you can call in to mine for a coffee, if you wish. I've got appointments a.m. and lunch time but you're welcome to break your journey here. Lincoln's about 120 miles or so from me and Dorset is about the same distance.

But not if this kind offer is going to incite your wife to violence of any kind;)

(That's violence against me... I don't really care what she might do to you)

Sorry Ozz, I'm working Friday, otherwise I would have treated you to a Hot drink on the way home as Oxford can't be far out of your way,

Ruth, thanks for the offer. I think the wife would probably object and also the time I would be passing would probably when you are busy anyway!

Skids, shame!

Might I suggest that you try to impress upon her that I'm just one of the lads? Ask any member of the BHCN

Anyway, shame not to meet you on this occasion but make sure you get out and about on that new bike and no doubt we'll bump into each other at a DSC rideout in due course.

Have fun and ride safely :)

No plans to go. Saw a thread about hospitality and a ticket available but I usually only manage one pro race day a year. This year was WSB at Silverstone. Free tickets :) I'd go if there was a free ticket ;)

Picked up Ozz from car rentals at just gone 9 this morning, that is when Ava Braun (Mrs Hitler) Finaly let him go, boy was she a miserable woman:(

One bacon sarnie with tomato sauce, coffee with one suger later, paperwork sorted, leathers & waterproofs on & off we went, Ozz following on his first Ducati, a M600 Dark me leading him back to join the A46 homeward bound, weather, inclement, hope you enjoyed the ride home Ozz, & hope it did not rain to much.;)

If you have had one of Chris.P´s bacon buttys its not getting wet that would worry you, more like how do you get out of wetproofs and leathers in a hurry :)

At least we can buy DANISH bacon over here, not like you lot living in Denmark, you have to sail over to good old blighty to buy some Danish bacon to take back to Denmark:D

My god that was a wet ride!

250 miles and about 180 were in torrential rain...

I had to tip water out of my boots, ring out my gloves and socks! But I made it and had some fun (when it was dry).

The indicators stopped working but must have just been the wet as they work again now!!

Despite all of the wet and the fact that a 4 1/2 hour journey took 6 hours I am still happy and the bike still looks spanking clean....

Picked a good day for it Ozz. Yesterday would have been a complete bore. Nothing but wall to wall sunshine and nice dry roads

Glad you got back safely. What does the Mrs think of it then?

Are you going to post some pictures?

Ruth, if Carole Nash had not wanted £20 admin fee plus more for one days cover it would have been thursday. Devitts (cover started friday) waived their admin fee and gave me comp on the Monster for £29 for the year!

Hopefully someone will buy the Fazer soon although it is comfy for my feet while sleeping in the garage!

Apparently got to name the bike now. Laura likes Kerchow, the missus Heinz (57 in the reg) and I wanted MOnty or Ruth ( ).

Photos in a separate thread.

Can't call it Ruth - it's black. Think about it logically. Well, you can if you like. And I can help you file the divorce papers, too

I'm amazed how cheap insurance for 2nd bikes (and 3rd) is. Not as cheap as yours but I'm only paying £35 for each of mine.

My Monster is called Minnie (inspiration came from Minnie the Moocher, Cab Calloway song).

You could appease the wife by using Heinz. No cost to you and big bonus points could come your way. Not that I'm here to give marriage guidance. I'm a 'pensions and divorce' expert, me, or used to be in my IFA days

Think it will be Heinz as will be a divorce if I tell the wife I am going for a ride on Ruth every time!
