Evenin' all,

Just wondering if anyone knew of a reputable company to go to St Anton with? Would've gone with Simply in the past but they've been sold to Crystal. I've been on a holiday with Crystal before. I'm not making the same mistake twice....

Looking for 5-6 bedroom plcater chalet with some character. Character should ideally be in the form of a hugely fit chalet maid and not a local 'character' laying face down outside the front door clutching an empty bottle of schnapps!

Cheers,

Ali

Ive been with Crystal several times. At Breckenridge their club hotel was superb............in Cervinia, it was awful!!!

You cant beat using a big company, good security on vicarious liability!!;)

We're off to Slovenia, slumming it in the 5-star hotel right next to the slopes I'm afraid... damn snowboarders are such fussy ******s ;)

disappointing news about simply because we used them and great, crystal not so good.

Probably just do it all ourselves again. Just need to decide where to go, so far have been to

La Coche
Les Arcs
Courchevelle
Meribel
Alpbach
Tahoe

We did a DIY package last time with friends and went to La Mongie in the Pyranees which was excellent. We stayed in a lovely hotel as my mate knew the owner (and had been going there for years) but he's now sold up and reports are that it has gone downhill.

This time there are 11 of us going and we couldn't match the prices that Crystal could do, nor the short flight and transfer times.

I guess you take a risk wherever you go!

'spose I better get the board sorted...

I have been with Ski Val to St Anton....We had slight problem with balshy staff, but the chalet was great and I have heard good reports from others who have been with them.

It's only the other side of the Dolomites so the snow is just as good as the more pricey Italian side. We've had lots of good reports from friends but we'll see how it goes.

I can recommend Turoa at Mt Ruapehu on New Zealands north island. Spent six weeks there. Didn't make it to the other resort on the volcano though, called Whakapapa (pronounced fukapuppa!!). Quite amusing when the freezing fog comes in. When it all sticks to you, you end up looking like a jelly baby!!!

I love the Trois Valles in France too. But tres expensive for food and drink.

Sorry Ali this doesn't help in your quest does it?!!

aaaaaaahhhhhhh Mt Ruapehu - that brings back memories - if any one gets the chance go to Mammoth Mountain - California as the name suggests there is plenty of space. worked on the mountain for a couple of months. great slopes, food, bars etc etc. and a few hours drive from L.A.
