Hi
I'm upgrading my 749 to a 999 and I was wondering if the original 749 ecu could be used with a PCIII to run the 999. Hopefully I'll have a termi 57mm system and air filters to complement the engine.
Cheers
Graeme
no chance.
The PC3 would be all you need to make your 57mm system work on the 999 with the standard ECU
I'm guessing you have the 57mm system from your 749 and now want to fit it to the 999?
What years are the bikes?

The PCIII can't change ignition timing, which I'm assuming is differnt on a 999 from a 749. The fuelling side would work, and if the PCIII could change ignition, then it oculd be possible. However, you would need a lot of dyno time to get the custom map. Not worth it, even if it was possible!
I would flog the 749 ECU and buy a 999 ECU. Keep the PCIII to map your 57mm system in.

I've got the 999 engine but nothing else yet, hopefully over the next couple months I'll purchase the termi's pciii and air filter + then dyno time.

yes the motor will be fine with a 749 ecu and a power commander, but you will need a custom map to get it to run correctly.
