Just spare a thought for the privater guys in supersport/stock/cup,etc.

Jamie Robinson came 6th at Silverstone. It was decided that tey would pull an engine. They listed three things, Redbull but Laverty crashed, #11 but he also crashed, and finally 6th place. So JR had to have his engine taken apart without compensation and then pay over a grand to have it put back togeather. None of this can be done with the engine in place, so you are left with one big pile of bits. It can't even be push away it has to be lugged bit by bit. Unfortunately for Jamie when it was put back togeather again it had developed a fault with the gearbox. so between friday afternoon and early hours saturday morning, the engine had to be taken to Grimsby to have a new box fitted and his wallet lightend by over another grand.Sat am 1st qualifying, major oil leak. Sat afternoon with minimum practice time Jamie qualified 6th. Things where really looking good.

Race day while in 6th place and about to be gifted 4th his gearbox packed up again. The team managed to borrow a bike off another competitor for the cost of £500. So the team went about getting al of the forks/shock footpegs, hand controls, etc, swopped over so that it at least might feel like his own bike. This took the best part 3 hours with only 45 mins to spare before the 2nd SS race. He was then told it was cancelled.

Racing sucks some times.

It really did stink - but what a lovely guy Jamie is; Even though he'd just had a nightmare in race one and with all the other **** he'd had dumped on him, he still seemed very positive when he took the time to speak to Karen and I before the second (to be cancelled) race. He didn't know us from Adam (or Eve!) but took some time to chat about his racing and the issues he'd had. He even offered us some lunch.

A really good guy and such a shame this stuff happens.

mate, it was painful to hear about and see first hand, all credit to him for keeping his chin up for all his sponsors .....

he was still at Brands at 11 this morning continuing to graft for his number one sponsors Bykerbabe and Margal, was kind of humbling to see that kind of dedication after all the big money teams have rolled out the paddock and start to take a well earned break.
