03 999R exhaust

Would the race track only Exhaust from a 2003 999R have a catylitic converter in it or would it be straight through also what would it be made of, reason for asking is that I have just bought one for a project bike and I want to know if I need to remove the Cat and what I need to weld it.

the 03 999R came with a termi end can and link pipe without the cat. but, if i remember correctly, it has smaller outlets than the 04 version. its certainly not as loud!
