We'll be sending out an info pack in the next weeks. This will have a rooming request form so we can match up 'room mates' and dates. Extra days shouldn't be a problem - there's more chance of getting a better rate with the group booking but it's up to you. (may get a bit confusing for the hotel though). Thanks Gerry

Out – Thursday 22nd, 16:35
Back – Tuesday 27th, 20:40

We've got a hire car sorted, but there's one spare seat if anyone else wants to come with us and split the cost of the car even more.

CICA - Combined Insurance Company of America.

I have the personal accident cover thingy, £250 a year.

VERY quick at paying out, and £1000 for a broken bone (arm/leg etc)

It's valid throughout all the commonwealth and USA (and other places) for virtually any activity - you'll be covered day to day as well - but not for war!

Do a search on here for it (we've spoken about it before) or Google them.

The event will go ahead whatever even at a loss but there are now 6 places available to the first booking we receive on a first come first served basis. If we haven't received your form I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. Our super new online booking form (cheers dom) can be used as this records time of entry.

Thanks, and looking forward to meeting you all in February.

Guadix circuit will be offering a full accident insurance including repatriation costs at around 20 Euro a day. It's underwritten by Llyods so is a fairly comprehensive cover. I'll forward details to everyone with the other info.

Don't know if the software alone will do it without some kind of hardware to hook it up to? We're looking at getting a transponder set up for the Academy but this is dependant on response to the whole idea. At the moment it's fairly positive so maybe next year. Besides won't you lot be running off to buy sport 1000's now? Perhaps they'll have the dataloggers like the 1098ers?

I'm interested in the Mugello trip but I'm really looking for an interesting trip to do in September/October. We were supposed to be riding down to Estoril for some trackdays and then riding back, but it's now been moved to May and I have some big work commitments in May and June. So, maybe to Mugello and please let me know if you have anything 'interesting' available to do in September/October.

Blimey, go away for a week and everyone's leaving...Seriously though - genuine reasons all round by all accounts and I'm sure we'll find substitutes. We're still receiving enquiries about this event and having just returned from the new Guadix - lengthened and widened (!) we could easily run 60 bikes at this event (DD/DSC only). We've originally planned it based on a truck load of bikes - 40, but we have extra capacity now so I'd like to hear everyone's views on this. Any extra revenue could be used to provide lunch at the circuit for everyone and we could still run an open pit lane with loads of space on track.

New turn 4 at Guadix will become famous - it's Valencias fast final left done right :)

Happy New Year by the way!

Gerry, if you allowed 60 places how many bikes would you propose being on track at the same time?

quick question, without having to trail through every single page of this thread...

are there still places available?
& whats the deal with bike transportation?

I know i've just come on board with the forum, but i am making serious enquiries about joining all you nutters in DD, this coming season...

as discussed in depth on another thread, 3 days track time getting to know the bike, my abilities (& limits thereof) & set up could prove invaluable to a newbie like me!

+ i'd also get a good idea of what i'm letting myself in for!

Hi Phil,

Your best bet is to email Gerry from www.racedays.net as he is organising it. His email addy is racedays@hotmail.co.uk

I'm not sure if it may be full (again) but people do drop out, so get your name down either way.

It's £450 which includes insured bike transport to and from Gaudix (you need to drop bike off at Downham Market or pay for a collection/delivery). You get 4 nights in a hotel and the 3 days on track. You just need to get yourself there. About £60 with a budget airline.

You won't get 3 days on a foreign track for anywhere near this money, Gerry's doing it at cost for us!!

Cheers

Dom

The trip is 'officially' full again, but as Dom advised, i've put my name down on the reserve list, cos circumstances will change for some peeps...

So, who knows...

As i've only done 1 track day before, i would love to join you guys in Espana, especially as it is looking increasingly likely that my ugly mug will be making an appearance in this year's DD Series!
(not that anyone will ever see it, probably only my arse... when come up to lap me!)

So come on, drop out, the lot of ya!  ;)

Dear All, have just logged on to find billions of PMs about Guadix. Please address all enquiries to info@racedays.net to be sure of getting a reply! Also we are still awaiting the return of the majority of the hotel and tyre forms. If we haven't received the form we will assign the rooms arbitrarily. And finally, very few of the returned forms have requested tyres. 3 days is a long time on what is now a quite grippy/abrasive circuit. We will not be holding a stock of tyres so please be sure you will have enough rubber!..

Unfortunately, i will not now be able to join you all in Guadix. Gutted :(

I've spoken to the guys that I'll be racing with & they have confirmed that the bike will not be ready for race testing before March.

Therefore, with regret, it would not be worth me going to Guadix. Although the track time would be immensely useful to me as an in-experienced rider, it wouldn't be very beneficial, without being able to get to grips with the actual bike I'll be riding (testing settings etc).

As my adopted motto goes... Ce Sera, Sera!

Anyone still interested in going should contact 'Racedays' & 'dickieducati'....Enjoy!

See you all at the meeting on the 10th.

I've been thinking how we can pad the 3 days out (when we're not building igloos or feeling sad because our instructors are just like, so not the best, sniff...and I thought riding in GPs and WSB meant you were quite good.. .) Anyhow, Iain Waine - our regular 'alrightish - but gutted not to be the best' mechanical assistant is going to come up and take care of our vid cam bike. As long as everyone's happy to put into a kitty to cover the costs Iain should be able to get an individual vid of everyone in actiono! Which will be nice! He's raced IOM, MRO, British and the NW200 and has been known to give Mike 'Spike' Edwards a run - so he's fairly competent on a bike! May have trouble staying with Dom though...

And following up on a previous thread we should be able to run a few sessions with practice starts for those who would like to. This would be particularly handy for any Novice racers as you'll be able to get the real 'first corner' experience. Parp. If we've got our new GPS Dataloggers we'll get them into action as well. Wow, the scrap books will be bulging!

And finally, a brief Geography numba! Cartagena is generally regarded as the warmest track in Spain due to it's proximity to the sea. Almeria is probably the driest but is higher = cooler. Guadix is about a whole 500 ft higher than Almeria I think = 1 degree cooler and at about 45 minutes distance isn't exactly in a different weather zone! Bring a jumper and sunblock!
