I am looking at buying tickets for the above (7th DEC)

http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/event/18003D4CFAB09C90?brand=cce2&camefrom=CFC_UKAFF_CCE1_CLEAR

Has anyone been there before? As it is standing only at the front, with unreseved seating/standing in the circle.
I don't fancy standing in the stalls but I don't really understand the arrangement for the cirlce.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
All I do know is, Leave any valuables at home.;)

Brixton Academy is a fine venue - I've had some great gig experiences there. Personally I would never get seated tickets in the circle. Stalls standing is far superior. What's your reservation about that? You'll certainly have no mosh trouble with a band like Madness and if you fancy a bit of a boogie then it's a bit tricky in a seat!

Hello final_edition

seen a few bands at Brixton Academy including early "GONG" a few years ago
its a great venue, small and compact, standing is no problem and you will
be close to the stage:)

have fun . . .

I went to Brixton Acadamy a couple of years back and was upstairs in the seated bit - from what I can remember most people stood up anyway

I think the Brixton Accademy is a filthy hole in an area that should be nuked.

Thats my personal opinion, everyone is entitled to their own opinion so there!

I agree, it's the best venue in London.

It's not the best Area I agree, but the venue is good too see bands, seen loads there.
The first part of the floor is flat at the front, then maybe 5metres or so back it starts to slope up giving a good view whilst still being close to the stage for a good atmosphere.
You'll love it, post back and let us know what you thought. :)
There is always a Police prescence there, the station is only 100 metres away, you'll be safe, just don't go looking for trouble.

Been there a fair bit. As the others say, it's great to see bands. Small enough so you never feel too far away from the stage, and the floor slopes up all the way so no matter where you stand the view is excellent. Best of all the bar runs along the back and is always easy to get to. Top place. And i've never seen/run into any grief outside either or had the car vandalised, broken into or whatever, despite parking it 'in the ghetto' so to speak.

Madness best band of all time, followed them alot in my youth, had some of the best scraps ever.

Saw them a couple of years ago at Hallam arena they were awsome, even better than I remembered, took the wife she'd never seen so many blokes in their forties dancing.

Enjoy cheers Wogger
