Would appear that someone with a Chinese IP tried to log into my account

Be aware and consider how secure your password is.

Thanks for bring this up Chris.
We've previously blocked a whole load of Chinese IPs that were all spiders/crawlers and doing nothing but bringing down the site performance.
I'll check through the logs and see if I can block these additional ones as well.

In the mean time, if anyone else has any issues just let the WebTeam know.

Looks like there's an automated bot trying to guess passwords on our login page, originating from Chinese IP addresses.

As such, I've banned the lot. The whole IP range. Screw 'em.

Your account on Ducati Sporting Club has been locked as the wrong password was entered more than 5 times. You will be able to attempt to log in again in another 15 minutes.

For your security, the person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 117.166.172.15

Don't forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Use the link below:

Hey Guys,
I also received 2 messages yesterday that my account was locked out as someone was trying to get into it - one was a Chinese IP address but the other was from the UK (possibly Reading area).

Many Thanks Gents, I've added a wide IP block to the site software until the same can be done to the hardware side.

Obviously, the DSC is 'of interest' for some reason so please keep reporting problems and be WARY of any unusual emails.

"117.169.1.106 appears in our database (Stop Forum Spam) 596 times

Current country of origin: China"

I'm still not sure why the DSC is of so much interest to these scum.

This is happening to a number of Forums - a hacking attempt was made on my VW Forum account this week. Are the Chinese targeting anyone with an interest in the internal combustion engine?
