All,

The RC will be sending an email to all DD racers for the annual 'Golden Tank' Award nominations.

The tank will be awarded at the Dinner Dance tommorow night, Dom has been keeping it safe all year, a good omen as it appears to have kept him upright all year!

Nominations can be collated from the message board or the email, please respond to either asap.

Obviously vivid descriptions and reasons for your nominations will be readily heard.

Cheers

imho its not the quantity but the quality..both have the quantity but Chris for his " rodeo " type dismount at Snett has to be the odds on fav....

Most crashes in 583:
must be a tie between Cleggy (everywhere), Griff (most memorable at C/Combe) & Chris Wood for taking to the ground at speed so many times!!

Most in 620:
Ali:lol: (innit? )
oh, and perhaps TP? (edited to add TP - and to give apologies to Ali for mistaking him as a racer who crashes in races!)
Lots of "one off's";) in this class throughout the season - Domski even - at Assen in practice eh?

Best crasher has surely got to be Chris Wood for his acrobatics at Snett - not forgetting his comical sidekick Eric the Red, for trying to save Chris & getting covered with tyre tread all over his leathers & bike!:o

Chris also managed that fantastic achievement of coming off in EACH race on the Sunday - is this a record in itself?

I've had to nominate Griff after his stunt show at Combe, and i didn't even mention following him into Redgate when he forgot to turn right!

Most in 620:
Ali, by a long waaaaay:lol: (innit? )

Oi! No DNFs this year! Not one! Only two slight tarmac interactions...one in practise and one on a TD!

I think you'll find there have been others showing much more consistency than I!

Exactly

Its a style thing - griff is just so quiet about it all ;)

its not worth awarding the golden tank to someone who is quiet now is it :saint:

Chris Woods and Griff get my vote, Griff for building the prettiest bike and spending all year trying to destroy it ;)

TP

It HAS to be Chris for his acrobatics exiting Coram at Snet.

And for consistency on that day, after having previously entertained the crowd gathered at Russell's by his spectacular handstand pivot, ride the bike reverse before falling off the side backwards manouevre.

Very impressive :)

Has to be the Woodster - to give it a triple salco (with tuck) and then offer a brief period of unconsciousness to finish has to nail it for me!! ;)

should be a special award added ;)

for the one who came back to the paddock the most times on the back of a transporter...............

Oh, that would be you TP!:frog:

Oooh, it's a toughy!

Griff has managed to astound us all season with his ability to crash in the most unlikely places. The smokey, back it in with a tuck dismount at Castle Combe's chicane was impressive, especially as he was sporting a broken wrist at the time!

But then Mr Woods' offs at Snett were both very spectacular too and I think he was the only one to do a proper job and knock himself out....wasn't that your Birthday too Chris? Hmmmm......

I'm gonna go with my 583 riding friend and vote Griff this time!

My vote goes to Andy Griff for season-long consistancy, climbing off while leading at Snet and for his double effort at Combe culminating with a winged Stuka finale....

<embarrassed smile>

I forgot the midget sized, lion hearted Butch:o - who managed to crash quite often too, tho luckily hiding himself usually disguised as a 583;)

Just how many times did AK lend you a set, or half set of rearsets?

C

ps: can we have the last loaned pair back now mate!:p

Just larfing at the film we have of CW's 1st race crash just in front of the camera:eek: thats the one you got up from chris.
Very appropriate as have put 'Im still standing' to accompany it, by Elton John
have got all of the meetings done now but some are a bit onesided for bikes 36 + 39.
some are quite mixed tho like the last one at cadwell (ta Tiffany) 1st race taken from from the top of coppice so seeing lots of bikes

if anyone fancies a beer sometime one evening to have a larf let me know
quite a bit of footage of paddock evenings and race prep too but put this all onto one dvd.
