I submitted an article to a new lady biker magazine, Bikeress, and I've just had an e-mail to say they are publishing it next month :D

I'm very happy about this and thought I'd share this happiness with you. I submitted the same article for PRONTO but their editor hasn't as yet advised me whether or not it will be used. The one I wrote about Assen was in the last issue, but as it was 6 months after the event, I doubt that many people bothered to read it. It was good though ;)

It's the November issue. Buy a copy and keep the magazine going. Don't know if I'm allowed to put the website address up here but I can PM it to anyone who wants it. Don't know how they plan to circulate it but as it's a new magazine I guess it will be appearing on a top shelf near you soon. Someone on here, may have been Charlotte but I can't remember, directed anyone who was interested in writing for a new magazine about Ducatis to the MOC website, where I found the link and sent it in. One of my multitude of ambitions is to be a bike journo, even if it's unpaid and sporadic, so I am extremely chuffed about this start. It's always easier to get subsequent articles published if you can say you've already been published. It's slightly adapted from a thread I posted here about my three bikes. I could post it up here again, I guess, but I better check with 'my editor' about copyright issues. ;)

One of the photos I used was Guido's picture of me on the Duchess at Cadwell and I asked them to ensure that they accredit him, as they are obliged to I believe, and give a link to his website, so it might be good for him too :D

Actually, it's the one I'm using as my Avatar. The other two pictures were with my own camera.

Well done, Phil. Didn't know if we're allowed to do that. I've lost track of all the do's and dont's on this forum ;)

Why not suggest to them that they take a web ad here ? Very inexpensive form of advertising for them. As one of their contributors I'm sure they would listen to your suggestion.

Well done getting your article published !!

I`m totally against this!

If Redruth`s article is published where will it all end? Next there`ll all want the right to drive and, heaven forbid, the vote!

Ok Ok I`m just getting my coat!

I think it's a great idea and I hope it does well. When I think of mags like Italian Bike which I subscribed to from the start, I hope it fares better than that.

Well done Ruthy-from one published author to another-I got an article done (with mucho editing) in 'The Times' some years ago.
Mind you what it ended up with was a lot different from what I wrote like-probably best...................

I'm a published author too...look...well over 5000 posts on this site

Seriously, I have had a big article published in a magazine called 'Performance Improvement'. It's nothing as exciting as improving bikes performance, it's a trade magazine issued by the 'International Society for Performance Improvement' and my article was about methodologies for improving the performance of groups of people, or teams, in the workplace...which is what I do.

Or to be more accurate, it's what I did in my last role before moving to a job that has me within a hairs breadth of saying "you can stick thi f****** job up your f******* a***" about 5 times every day. :(

Oh Joolsy,

Sorry you feel like that about your job.

I think writing is all about finding your niche. I've written one and a half novels too but couldn't pique the interest of any agents so I gave up on it. For the time being at least
