K&N. Probably the most expensive but they have a good reputation, came out well in tests and have a drilled nut on the end which make them very easy to remove and lockwire on the race bike.

I use Ducati ones from the dearer
where do you get the K&N items from then ?

I bought the first lot off ebay and then contacted the bloke direct when I needed more earlier this year.

They cost about £7 each so not cheap, but saves hassle of lockwiring with jubilee clips and stuff.

I use Ducati parts and change them regularly, if anyone gets a filter really stuck don't forget that I have made up a tool that locates in the base plate that always gets them shifted. Just need to tear off the outer can to get at the baseplate.

Members are welcome to borrow it for the cost of postage.

I had that when changing a oil filter on the sps lump when I got it. Made up a tool that sounds very similar. Ended up removing the outer case and locating it in the holes that form the base of the cartridge.

Beats me how anyone can get a filter on that tight! must have fitted it without oiling the sealing ring first I guess? Freaking numpties.

The one I made up locates on the holes in the filter baseplate as well, the other end has a female half inch drive so you can give it some serious leverage if it is stubborn. I reckon the filters tend to tighten slightly during use and there isn't much exposed out the bottom of the cases to get hold of.

I bet that's a plain old Ducati filter with a Corse logo painted on it!!
