tap size

hi, can someone tell me the thread size for the tap , the ones on offer as a replacement dont offer the year i want n reg 1996 750 ss
but do give the thread size m 12x1mm.
i'm guessing this will fit mine but need to be sure,
any info welcome ..cheers
