The better half has passed and off to get herself a monster which, hoorah, means I can slap on that single seat at long last. Need some advice -

Best place to get a shiny new yellow one for a 748 bip?

How much should I expect to fork out?

Best with ducati orginal part?

Any info on the brackets I need?

Oh, and can a numpty fit it?

its a bit of a trek but have a look at www.3Xmotorcycles.net (http://www.3Xmotorcycles.net) they have a brand new 620 with £1000 off so its £3999, the S2Rs are all sold but they might still have that one.

I would have thought nearer 250 smackers for the genuine Ducati one off e bay. When I asked at a dealer it was 400 ish .....

yep, i'd agree with that, most of them seem to go for £200+, but £150 is about right if it is a bit chipped or scratched........ although you might get a deal as it's coming up to chrimbo and (a) people are having clearouts to raise money (b) it's not exactly ducati season is it?

Thanks guys.

I'd reckoned on 200-300 for the OEM so fair enough. Anyone know what the brackets consist of?

Nice monnie bought today but thanks 749er...

i dont like that one , you should really put an angled bracket on top to give it more strength,

all you need to add to a single seat that fits a mono frame is the 2 longer bolts , 2 spacers about 23mm long and an angled bracket like this one

Thanks guys. 1 more question -

Are the spacers the black rubber doodas or the anodised spacers under neath which the bolts seem to run through?

Now I just need to track down a yellow one....

The spacers are the goldy coloured sleaves you pass the bolts through. Made from Italian cheese, as always ....

Ta Mr Pie.

So in summary longer bolts, new cheese spacers, bracket and someone with a single 748 seat they don't need. Shouldn't be too hard.....

Thanks guys.

I have an original Ducati mono seat as new, with original box, and all the spcers etc, but in red with white numberboards. Maybe time to get a re-spray on the bike to the real Ducati colour. Offers anyone??

I'll choose to ignore that, multi......

How much you looking for it? Might consider spraying over the red primer if the price were right!

or, alternatively, as used on my BP/single seat conversion, the spacers are two 11mm sockets and 2 washers :D
