I've put a post up on the New Era forum to find out if we can actually race for another championship in 2007 - the SV650 one.

Some of you would have raced in that this season, but nobody scored points (not even the SV's when they turned up). I'm assuming this is due to the very low numbers of bike entered.

So, I've asked the question, that if it's run again, and if 15 of us race in it - for extra races/value for money during a weekend - if it will be a 'proper' championship i.e. we score points and actually race for something.

Who would be interested?

Hopefully it will only cost £25 per race to enter (£50 for both per day).

I might be tempted to turn out on an 800 ;)

2 cylinders are all you need but 3 is an excellent compromise

Is there a minimum number required to make a points qualifying race? It could be a third (or fourth) 620 race!!! ;)

Might enter a couple, but not many.
I'd rather enter with the SV's/f400/hornets for a bit of extra practice than try it on in SOT... Less chance of getting lapped so as not to lose a lap fof the session, and there's a few more bikes on equal ground to race against.
Extra races are £30 each next year aren't they?

That's the question I was trying to ask - just using far more words to confuse anyone who read it ;)

I won't tell if you don't. It looks very similar to a 620s :D

is this £30 per extra class (ie 2 races) or per race?
can you just enter the one (say first) race of the extra class.

£30 for two extra races in a day, I'm in! points or none......

It's £30 per race, so £60 to do both.

However, this means that for £30, you get an extra qualifying session and 1 race.

I'll be doing both races.

for £30, I might do one race (the extra qualifying session would be a bonus), but an extra £60 a day is a bit too much.

Going from a conversation I had with Jim, I think you need around 15 riders before they will consider it a championship. I am sure someone will sponsor you for trophies ;)

Can you get that?? It would still have be mixed grids even with 15, but get yoursleves 30 entrants and you have your own grid, which then poses another question of fitting the race in!!

But like Dom says, enter one extra race, and its extra qualifying and another race for £30.
