So, what are the opinions on the most effective replacement breathers? My standard (94 888) seems to leave the rear of the engine coated in a film of oil and the return by the sidestand has its own little slick.

There are a load to choose from and some are clearly pretty but do they actualy work better than a late model standard item.

Thanks,

Rob

As an afterthought to the original post, what do yoy think of the small K&N filter approach that bins the whole bunch of recirculation pipework as well?

Rob i have got the K&N very pretty and small breather on my 996, i was told not to use them because of blah blah.
But the only down fall i can find is that you now desperse the gases in to the atmosphere rather than trying to burn them again, and must admit it breathes so much better.
So that is my opinion.

i read somewhere (LT Syders Ducati Maintenance Book) that you're best off leaving the stock breather in place as otherwise performance is affected (to a very small degree). something about crankcase/airbox pressure or ???
