Got a little dot on the tank behind the steering damper not a clue how it got there as it is a small gap to get into scratch it.

Appears to be white primer underneath? is this normal for ducati?

By the way its 748s with the 'titanium' grey paint, and red 5 spokes.

Anyone know where i can get a touch up paint/pen/stick thing?

Thanks

Will do.

If you have a stock damper I suspect the dot is caused by it rubbing against the tank, and it'll happen again if you touch it up. I've stuck a carbon fibre patch on the appropriate spot on the tank; buying an Ohlins would be the complete solution.

I'm sure it's been posted before, but does anyone know what touch up is avalable for the frame and fairings? I'm sure there must be an easy solution to the fairing but the funny semi silk gold finish is a bit of a sod.

Rgds,

Rob

Dukess1999,

I do have a stock damper bikes only done 600 miles. Is this common then?

Now I look at it closely there is a white dot with score marks either side, so will be along white scratch soon.

Is this a warranty claim? Can something be done to stop it happening?

Thanks

I can sort the colour out it is not a problem but only thing is i can only get 1/2 litre which is not cheap and being a vary rare colour I wont need it.
The frame colours are not a problem if it is grey but the gold is very difficult to get right as i have used 2 suppliers now by mail order and both have been wrong so went to closest 1 on bike done a match mixed paint perfect match came home put some into pots tried it a couple of days later wrong colour even loads of mixing still doesnt help, so if you need some paint chips or scratches done on your frame then it needs to be done professionally.

Thanks for the reply Yellow bip. I thought Phyclist was saying that you knew where could get a touch up stick/pen.

But after Dukess999 post sounds like its not a mark done by me so will be asking the dealer what he thinks.

1/2 a litre would be a bit to much:lol::lol:

Thanks

I had a similar mark on my tank I think it was the rubber washer for the tank bolt that was split causing the tank to move forward that little bit
try turning the washer round a bit and see if that helps

Ducati dont actually do touch ups and all i do is buy 1/2 litre of paint and bottle it up into little air brush bottles and sell it on but with a colour like yours there will not be much call for it.
Sorry cant help mate.

Lee,

if your bike is under warranty I think you have a fair case; see if your dealer can provide an Ohlins at cost!

Cheers,

Iain

Would be nice wouldn't it a free Ohlins not likely.

I'm guessing they will touch it up and adjust the position of the tank like Den suggested above.

Although at the end of the day I should be able to turn it lock to lock with out anything touching as this could be dangerous. I need to turn it full lock to get it out each day. I guess in normal riding this never happens often.

I'll see when I take it for the first service what sor of excuse they give.

thanks
