There is now a DSC Trackday Calendar available for those of you who want to book a trackday which other members of the DSC are going to.

Simply goto the DSC Trackday Calendar at:
http://www.ecom-secure.co.uk/dsc/calendar/

You can browse through the months or search for events (and people's names) using the Search box link at the bottom of each page.

To add a Trackday
1. Simply click the "Add an Event" link at the bottom of any page.

2. Select the date of the trackday, then type in the details. Don't forget to include where (eg Brands), how much (eg £125) and who it is organised by (eg 100% Bikes), and who is going. You can also include a link to a Message Board post or to the organiser website.

3. Click Submit.

That's it! An admin will then review your entry and make it show up on the calendar.

To add your name to an existing Trackday
Follow the instructions for adding a trackday, but state that you want to be added to the existing trackday on that date. Don't forget to set the correct date *and* add your name!

Tips:
I've added some common dates for the race season, such as MotoGP, SBK and BSB rounds. WDW2004 is also in there as well! To search for these, simply type "MotoGP" (without the quotes) into the search box and click the button. The same works for "SBK", "BSB" and "WDW".

You can also search for your friends names, eg "dibble" (again, without quotes) so see what trackdays they have signed up for.

If you have any comments or suggestions for it, please let me know!

Is it Ok to post Phil's Pembrey trackday dates ? Or do u want to keep it as Who's Doing'' What as apposed to ''Whats On..''

No problem either way - just thought I'd ask.

Brill idea

Alan,

Nothing like having some choice when it comes to deciding what to do on a sunny Sunday ....

Likewise Dibble. I take it you are well.

Drop me your Mail address and I'll post u up Phil's CD Rom Portfilio. MS Powerpoint inc sounds ( Stereophonics, of course) and 2.5mins of video. It's well cool.

Sorting the RS out as soon as I get it back from the Autosport Show ( Sunday night ) and then the 2nd RS engine to get built. Doing MRO Powerbike so Brands / Croft (!!) have been added to the normal circuits. Might even get to some BSB PC if the Fairy Godmother finally appears ( she's delayed / on back order / lost in the post )

1/ 2 finished web site see www.philbevanracing.co.uk

Catch up with u soon - March ain't far away !

I really think this should be a "who's doing what" with respect to trackdays and racing meets. There is already plenty of "what's on" guides out there such as www.uktrackdays.co.uk and many others. I believe the former purpose was what the original request had in mind. Others may disagree, but I'd like to see it being used as a calender to find out if such and such is going to a particular trackday or racing on a certain weekend. I know Antonye has added the MotoGP, WSB, etc dates to show how it works, but I don't think that where the value would be for such a calendar, as these dates are published at plenty of other places.

Comments?

As I said before: Great effort by Antonye!

agreed, its spot on as it is.

if particular trackdays are popular then they will get plenty of exposure by default.

Agreed with Felix and Dickie. There's plenty of places to find out about trackdays. This should be kept as a DSC trackday/racers calendar so we know where we can bump in to each other.

I tried to do a similar thing last year using an MSN group calendar and failed totally....yours is much better.

Perhaps there could be different calendars for Trackdays/racing and clubs area meetings/trips etc? - If members want to know who's going where.

Just a thought!

Hi Alan, I'm never far away, got your email with all the trackday dates, the one at the end of March is a interesting one as I should be racing there the following weekend, Trying to sort out with Dallas & Adrian some pre season testing.
Going to try and make the NG Marshalls do on Sat evening are you and the team going.
Hows my 16 1/2 inch Rear wheel, I haven't seen it in ages.

Alan Holland

Kev

Bev will be @ the Marshalls do, I can't as I've just done the Autosport Show with Pembrey, and have some work to finish off @ home. Ask him 'bout the wheel then - I did remind him the other day tho' I'll be @ the New Era Prize bash in Feb.

Weeksy - First 2 day event is Saturday / Sunday March 27th / 28th, so that should be spot on for u.

We're @ Croft the following weekend - up north I believe, so won't be @ Pembrey. Sounds like the normal 5 hour trip in the Van...

Desmondo: When I look at the event entry there is a "more info" link. It doesn't seem to work.

Desmondo
21-Jan-2004, 11:47
The "More Details" link is for adding a website address that has details of the event. This could be either the trackday organiser, link to a trackday thread on these forums or a link to the race series promoter/organisation. We can only use the details that are supplied when you add the event. I've found the link to the NEMCRC (http://www.nemcrc.co.uk/) so I'll add it to your dates.

EDITED : I've just seen that you had included the web address. It's just that the "http://" part was missing so the page wasn't opened properly. All corrected now.

Well it wasn't really your fault mate, you had included the website address. However I know now that it must have http:// in front of it to work properly :)

Just a reminder guys - this is a track day calendar for DSC Members, and not a general track day calendar!

We will add events which DSC members are attending. Anything else will just be rejected.

We've had a lot of events submitted which are just all the days where a particular company are running a trackday, and that's not what it is for!

As Desmondo says, please include your Forum nickname so that other DSC members can see who is attending, and also so we know who is submitting events.

Thanks!

I am a DSC member (fully paid up) and also an Officer within Motorcycle Folly. MCF is a not-for-profit track club that has now been running for 16 years. I attend all the days which are open for all types of rider and bike. It is therefore disappointing that the MT won't allow the dates for this season to be put in the calendar. I have now tried twice and clearly my efforts are being blocked. Why is this ? MCF is not a commercial concern and a DSC member (me) will be present as a rider at each one of those days. What's the justification?

Hi,

The DSC MT doesn't have any input into the trackday calendar - it was created by me, runs on my own webspace (that I pay for) and is administrated by myself and Jim (Desmondo) in our spare time.

I've been in Dublin over the last couple of days and will need to check what is yet to be "put live" on the calendar, so it may be that it is just waiting the go ahead.

I'm sure it's just an oversight on our part - it may be that you didn't put down your DSC board name, membership number or made it clear (to us idiots!) that you were a DSC member. The reason that there is human intervention required to show events on the calendar is so that we don't get commercial concerns loading up the calendar with their own dates and obviously at their commercial gain.

As I said, I'll check the list of submitted events (which is now over 100!) and see if there are any waiting to be approved, and apologies for the delay.

No problem!

I've made live all the dates that are in there, so please check through (use the search feature to find them all) and then resubmit any that I've missed - I deleted a few that got doubled up, but probably messed it all up!

Thanks,

"I deleted a few that got doubled up, but probably messed it all up!"

Checked 'em and thought that 3 were missing but I think I've now posted Snetterton on the 23rd of September twice. Sorry ! The other 2 are Brands Indy on 17th of June and Mallory on the 19th of August. I have now posted these.
Cheers,
Backmarker

Once again, well done to Antony and Jim, excellent work.

I will be putting up all my race dates and all the No Limits dates that I will be attending. I will not put up the No Limits dates that I'm not attending. I think as a paid up member who attends all his dates, Backmarker should be allowed to post his dates. Same would apply to Alan at PB t/ds, but I notice he's not a member!!!

However, what's to stop someone from 100% joining the DSC for £25 and getting the free advertising for their money?

I will confirm by separate post, but No Limints will again be offering fully paid up DSC members a 10% discount for all their 2005 dates.

Now that just wouldn't be in the spirit of the club, or the whole point of the calendar. It's down to the admins if dates are shown or not ;)

Sorry - I did get the notification emails but haven' been in there to flick the switch and make them live.

I've also got to add all the DesmoDue dates, and 2005 dates for MotoGP, SBK and BSB, so expect it to all be sorted shortly!

I've made all the dates that were queued up live, along with all of the DesmoDue race dates.

Now for SBK, MotoGP and BSB!

If anybody would like to add dates, please try to keep them in the format of the ones that are already in there, as it means less work for me in editing them, and means they get on the calendar quicker!
