.. will this be ok?

Needed a new chain and rear sprocket anyway and wanted to take one tooth off of the front.

Have just bought a kit that has the chain, sprocket carrier and then one off the front sprocket and one more on the back.

Is this too much of a change? Wot will it handle like?

And another question, how will it effect my speedo and mileage readings? Can these be adjusted?

Cheers

that will be fine. Will be much more lively after that. You speedo and odo will not be affected. They are not governed by the gearing.

You'll probably find 10 mph off the top end with that setup.

you'll be trying for 7th gear for a while...:P

Many thanks for the replies..

Glad to hear that it wont be too severe.. Just wanted to make it easier through town and then to have a bit more punch, hopefully some power wheelies maybe?

Excellent news about it not effecting the speedo, real bonus that.

Speedo drive is off the front wheel. It will read wrongly though cos the front wheel wont be on the ground for much of the time!!

Any chance of a few pics of the Renthal set up, fancy getting similar setup although havn't seen any pictures of it. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?
