Just went to start the bike and she is not playing :(

Bike is nearly 2 years old and has always been kept on an optimate when not in use. A while back the desulphate light came on on the optimate, but it was on and off for a bit and she still started ok.

Now she won't start at all. Is the battery goosed? Will I be able to get away with just taking it off and charging it fully or do I need a new one?

It tries to turn over a bit, then just starts clicking. Didn't want to push it too much as it seemed to be getting more feeble each go.

Hi Lily, if the optimate is not faulty and i presume you have no reason to suspect it is? Looks like you battery has had it!

Take it and get it tested just in case but it does sound terminal.

Best of luck

Weeksy that will check if the bike is charging but not the battery's ability to hold a charge.

The optimate is connected when the bike is not in use (or should be) so when you come to the bike the battery should be fully charged. They are very good!

Have you hard wired the optimate cables to the battery(with the quick disconnect-plug on?),'cos if you did there is a fuse on the live cable coming off the battery, check that.
