I love being on nightshifts at times - lol - gives me a good chance to study spares catalogues

SO.......I found some interesting stuff for my 900ss 1993 bike which will apply to most SS/SL bikes upto 95 (I believe)....

First up Braking Wave discs - yep ! those discs with the funny wavy edge patterns. They actually specifically list a 900ss.....and the drawback erm...well.....yes £175.99 each!!!!!!

Next, for our gorgeous beasts - aftermarket Rectifiers at £61.99....I've seen some on Ebay recently that went for around the £40 mark...I understand the rectifiers can be weak at times.

Finally some I almost glossed over until the connection bit. WHen trying to overhaul my Mikuni carbs last year - I found the importer to be VERY unhelpful with spares. I really wanted to replace the diaphragm and rubber gaskets and managed neither as they either wouldnt sell them or were extortnate !!!

Apparently - (gulp) Yamaha TDM850's had exactly the same carbs fitted early on as my 900ss - which different jetting etc....AND M&P sell overhaul kits (sadly without the diaphragms - but withgaskets etc) for a measely £12, nice one!

Roll on summer

I've seen some on Ebay for £268 (inc shipping) 'buy it now' jobbies.

I'm thinking of getting some - but I don't know if they are up to it - anyone out there got 'em? rate 'em?

Lookee here.......

I think they work great, give good feedback and look the biz as well.

With a wavy rear, the back brake actually works too!

Or am I just biased?

Who cares

Hmmmm....they do look quite nice.

I understand they are meant to be the dog's b*ll*cks and are a worthwhile upgrade but, I get the impression that its only if you need to replace discs for wear / cracking etc etc.

AS for a rear brake - lol - isnt that the one thats used for hill starts

Frank

I notice there are two sets as well...some for an 888

lol - the bid increment price has gone up ALOT on Ebay......since the 'buy it now price' is £260 I think the reserve will be al least 200 or more likely 250

As pointed out check out the DSC thread and support the club......

You know u wanna

Andy - how did you work that one out then?

It was £268 (Buy It now - for the pair - inc P&P) on Ebay. The Robsom thread you posted was £292 +(?) p&p....

I've no issues with drumming up support for DSC members - I've bought some good kit from Nelly before and I may well take the plunge but I guess it's about being competitive.

Anyway, someone else got there and It didn't hit reserve ...but worth a go anyway.

:(:(:(

Hmmmmmmm...I didnt figure that one.....£292 must obviously be BEFORE the DSC discount :D

Anyway the Ebay ones had Black painted centers - naff !!! Gotta be gold for our Beauties - LOL

Cheers - Frank
