Before I go & wrongly strip part of my 748, I thought I would ask the board for ideas.

When turning the ignition key to on, the oil warning light flashes on for a millie second, no other lights, bike is dead, switch off & on a few times, then bingo, on come all the lights & you can start the bike????, any one had this before?????.

Check the multi plug connector on the rhs frame rail that runs from the switch itself.
If that looks OK. Spray some WD40 into the switch and let it soak.
Sounds like a connector somewhere in th main ignition circuit, and they are two most exposed.

Chris my mate Senna3 has his bike cut out occasionally, could be the same thing, I will lend him the relay off mine and see if it cures it.
