Starter turns, then nothing.

My 03 triple 9. Has had all the positive wiring upgraded. All the earth cable tripled. Starter switch cleaned and all's good. The EOBD checked just as good. The problem remains. Press the starter switch, all turns and works for the 5 seconds duration. Then press the starter again, nothing. Only dashboard lights. If it's left half a day it will do the same again. Any sooner, nothing. Any advice out there. It's become annoying.

Possibly the dash, sounds like it is an intermittent immobiliser problem. I've known dash's to get damp inside and the circuit board tracks start to corrode. As the signal from the transponder in the key is sent to the dash it could be the possibilty of a dash issue

Cheers for the advice. Checked the dash and all their electrics, all's good. Still the same problem.

Does it do the same with the sidestand up and the clutch lever pulled in
