After buying some Duckhams 10-40 Semi-synthetic oil cheap, I was sorely tempted to just stick it in and change the oil a bit more regularly...

Well damit...after reading a post Shazam put out a while back:

Oil Filters !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (http://ducatisportingclub.com/control/boards/viewthread.php?tid=6566)

and given that the last Mobil1 I used still looked pretty good (but it was the 0W-40, NOT the 15W-50 that is recommended)......I gave in after a brief search last night...quick trip to Halford and £35 later I am happily in love with a shiney 4L bottle of motorsport 'liquid engineering' - I figured my new K&N filter deserved it and I want my next Dyno run to look good

Halfords are even doing Oxford and other semi-specialist orders like rear huggers etc. I was almost tempted into some screen beading but only Chrome, black and Blue were available - the Oxford packet even has a piccy of an 'SS' on the front - but the bead was in Gold that looked tasty - so I'll wait until I see one of those.

Finally - a trip to my closest Bike dealer....Tilsons in Stockton.
I spotted a Y reg 748R with less tha 7000 miles on the clock, very nice too...it on the biketrader website (search for all 748's within 20 miles of TS23) - £6995 seems bit steep ...... especially when they have an Aprillia Falco in there for £4995 as well (pant, pant).....The only problem...

THE ARE BOTH YELLOW - UGH :o:D:o

Noooooooooo, not the gold....don't do it!!!

I had a big stone crack my standard screen, so I thought I would experiment by cutting it down lower - expecting more wind blast but less buffeting. That worked OK, but I finished it off with what I thought was the least offensive beading that Flitwick Motorcycles had in stock at the time I wanted to do the job. It was Gold, which was less offensive than the shiny purple or green...put it on the bike and it looked cheaper, tackier and tartier than a cheap, tacky tarts handbag.

Ohhhh - Maybe not then ???

Looked good on the package - since it looked very much like mine anyway - my original screen just had a plain black sort of ribbed affair (lets not go there !!!)....

The bear screen looks ok but......unfinished !!!

Good advise though.........Cheers
