On the verge of buying one but I'm all confused over -R & +R and all the darn regions.

My only concern is that like most people I have had DVD's that will not play on our family player in the front room but will play happily on my PC.....I'm not sure what type of problem this is.

Any / all advice welcome

Buy a DVD player that will play VCD and SVCDs !!!

These can be picked up for under 40 quid now, and there's no gaurantee that switching to DVD+/-R disks will fix yours problems ... in fact if it doesn't play VCDs then it certainly won't like DVD+/-R disks either.

Have a look at http://www.dvdrhelp.com/ for info on creating disks and also the DVD Players section (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers) for which players do what.
