Its funny how things work out sometimes, I'd just started bidding on Ebay for a nice red GRP single seat for my 900ss at the opening bid of £40 - I was impressed as it is apparently red impregnated and in very good nick.....

Needless to say the bid rose rapidly and since it didnt have any pads fitted at all - I bid £50 and was immediately outbid.

So....time to search further afield, any guesses on how many results come up for a general worldwide search for Ducati?

Way too many !!!!

However, in the first page of listing there was a lovely looking SL type seat BUT it has a nice 'hump' that can be removed to reveal another seat underneath....excellent.

And with a buy-it-now option at £40 - it was too good not to have a go.

So, I'm waiting to hear from Germany now......I'll let you know of the results.

If its crap...please dont tell me until I've had a chance to cry over it myself OK

Frank..I have a brand new boxed ducati single seat for the later ie ..ive seen one fitted to your style of SS..think you just need the different rear light.

Anyway if thats no good, and you go for this seat or similar, ive got some (brand new still in the packet) OE ducati superlight white number boards with the number '1' and 'ducati campione del mondo' stickers.
Let me know if your interested mate.

Sadly, this has now proved to be a project too far for me.

After getting the bare seat unit I have now completely ran out of cash (hense selling my other leathers) and have decided not to proceed with the seat build....

So its up for grabs...I might be able to get the seat pads from the guy in Germany.

Here are the piccies of it on my bike (just to get an idea)
